Embossing ~ Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop

Welcome to the 5th  Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop,  I am delighted to be taking part  again.  We are  group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.

You will have either arrived from  Shirley Mercer’s post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME.  This month’s theme is  Embossing   ~  there are different types of embossing, dry embossing which uses Embossing Folders along with the Big Shot, Powder Embossing which uses embossing powders and a Heat Gun and Embossing Paste – so I had quite a decision to make on which to choose.

Once again I have chosen to use a 12 x 12 page – mainly because Stampin’ UP! has 12 x 12 card stock in all its colors which gives me a fantastic choice but also because they have the 12 x 12 Page Protectors and Albums.

As it is nearly the end of 2018 I wanted to have a New Year theme for my page and I usually associate New Year with black and silver so chose my background as black then pulled everything out of my stash that had black and silver in it – and was very pleasantly surprised at all the choices I had!

I also chose to show all three types of embossing – the big medallion from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks is using White Embossing Paste which I then sprinkled with Silver Embossing Powder.  Then I used the ‘swirly’ stamp from Timeless Textures stamp set which sort of reminds me of Catherine Wheel fireworks – perfect for bringing in the New Year, this uses the more traditional embossing using Versamark to stamp the image then adding the silver embossing powder then melting it with the Heat Tool.

The Tailored Tag Punch was used to cut the shapes on the bottom left-hand corner from the Galvanized Metallic Paper run thru the Big Shot with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder .

All elements are attached with Multipurpose Liquid glue then I went to town with the embellishments, Mini Silver Sequins, Black 3/8 Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Clear Faceted Gems, and Clear Rhinestones – after all ~ it is a celebration so why not have lots of BLING!!
