Heat Embossed Lovely Lattice – Sale-a-bration Goodies

This stamp set is true to its word – it is LOVELY ~ so serene and peaceful.  I chose to use heat-embossing to really highlight the delicate details.

The stamp set does not have any greetings so I chose to pair this with another of the Sale-a-bration item, the Part of My Story stamp set, which has 7 different greetings that would cover several occasions.

What excites me though is that I got both of these stamp sets for FREE as part of Stampin’ UP!’s annual promotion where by spending $50 on you get to choose from 11 different items for FREE. Read on for more information…………….

Embossing ~ Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop

Welcome to the 5th  Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop,  I am delighted to be taking part  again.  We are  group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.

You will have either arrived from  Shirley Mercer’s post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME.  This month’s theme is  Embossing   ~  there are different types of embossing, dry embossing which uses Embossing Folders along with the Big Shot, Powder Embossing which uses embossing powders and a Heat Gun and Embossing Paste – so I had quite a decision to make on which to choose.

Once again I have chosen to use a 12 x 12 page – mainly because Stampin’ UP! has 12 x 12 card stock in all its colors which gives me a fantastic choice but also because they have the 12 x 12 Page Protectors and Albums.

Black Ice Technique with Video Tutorial

Time to share a technique ~ Black Ice.  It creates a great focal point to a card with a really unusual finish.  As this is an embossing technique it also gave me a chance to pull out my Heat Gun which has been sadly neglected for a while 🙂

Looking at the color combination I think this would make for a great card for the guys in our lives and the second sample with a little flower and bow would be great for a feminine card.

Star of Light Meets Time for Tea!

A dear friend of mine recently became an American Citizen, just in time to celebrate her 18th year of living in this country.  A good reason for a card, of course, but it needed to be special with a little ‘nod’ to both her countries of citizenship – the UK as well as the USA  (we Brits are allowed to be dual citizens by both countries)

Red, White and Blue are obvious choices as both countries flags have those colors, then I chose to use the lovely ‘swish’ from the Star of Light stamp set as it has stars and the ‘swish’ part reminds me of fireworks and celebration.  To honor her British side and her love of tea (very much like my own as I explained earlier this week) a tea cup from the Time For Tea Stamp Set
