Daisy’s are such cheerful flowers, I have a Shasta Daisy bush in my garden which produces flowers all summer long. I also have a South African Daisy which has bright yellow petals and a deep purple center – very dramatic…. and finally one of my Yorkie’s is also called Daisy, so you could say that daisys are a big part of my life!
Today’s card uses the Daisy Lane Stamp set along with a couple of my favorite punches, make sure you come visit me again on Wednesday when I have another card to share using the full Daisy Lane Bundle.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Old Olive Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Soft Seafoam Card
Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Whisper White Card
Layer 3: 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 Whisper White Card layered onto 4 x 2 Old Olive Card
Vertical strip: 5 1/4 x 1/2 Old Olive Card
Ink Colors: Mango Melody, Old Olive and Soft Seafoam
I stamped the daisy flower first then maneuvered the stem to fit in as much of it as possible – by doing it this way I make sure I get all my flower onto the card as I really don’t mind loosing a little stem and leaf. My sentiment is cut with the 1 3/8 Scalloped Circle Punch then layered onto some Soft Seafoam card cut with the Timeless Label Punch.
My twine bow is made with Whisper White Bakers Twine, I cut a length then placed it onto my Old Olive Ink Pad held it down with the back of a teaspoon and pulled. To get the depth of color I had to run it thru a few times then left it to dry before tying the bow and attaching with a Mini Glue Dot! This is a good tip for getting twine in any color you need for your project.
This stamp set is part of the Daisy Lane bundle – check out this video for some great ideas for using it.
