Peacock Tails with Floral Essence Birthday Card

Hello Paper Crafting Friends ~ welcome back to my corner of the world.

Today’s card is the result of clearing off my work bench before going away on holiday!  At the end of July I was part of a Scrapbook blog hop and had decided to use the Detailed Peacock dies along with the Noble Peacock Specialty Paper.  Rather than cut into my specialty paper straight away I had a little practice with some regular card – just to see what it would look like and if it would work on the page I was designing.  Glad to say that it did – click here to see the results!

So now I was left with two perfectly cut pieces of Shaded Spruce card that I just could not bring myself to throw away!

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Melon Mambo Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5 x 3 3/4 Whisper White Card

Scraps of Whisper White and Shaded Spruce card for embellishments

Ink Color: Melon Mambo

The greeting is from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set I shared with you on Wednesday (yes it was on my workbench as well!) Check out the card here.  While I have made this a thank you card,I think the design would be great for just about any occasion – just change out that greeting to suit!

I simply stamped the 3 petal flower from Floral Essence Stamp Set twice and cut with the Perennial Flower Punch.  The two pieces are stuck together with a glue dot and the petals curled a little with my bone folder.  The two peacock ‘tails’ are attached with tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the flower attached with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  A Clear Faceted Gem added to give a big punchy bling and I am done – pretty chuffed (happy) that I used up my scraps as well as making good use of that Magnolia Blooms stamp set again

I wondered if you still have the directions to fold & cut those card we made with 1 piece of design paper. They were blue & yellow I’d like measurements & I printed it off but can’t seem to find them. Thanks for helping me. See you soon Linda Conrad
