A Simple Water Colored Sympathy Card Idea

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Not always our most favorite cards to create but there are times a handmade card can bring comfort at these difficult times. While this is a simple card it does have a couple of techniques that are quick and easy to do.

  • Base Card: 8 1/2 5 1/2 Pebbled Path Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
  • Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card ~ run thru the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder
  • Layer 2: 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Pumpkin Pie Card
  • Layer 3: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Very Vanilla Card
  • Ink Color: Pebbled Path

My stamp set today is Lovely and Sweet, as always the images and greeting are from the same set. The greeting is stamped before embossing the Very Vanilla card. After stamping the main image I used my Blender Pens to ‘smoosh’ the ink onto the leaves then with the Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil I colored the flowers then did a little more ‘smooshing’ to blend the color a little more.

For both pieces of vanilla card I added a little ink sponging with a Sponge Dauber to soften the edges and give it a bit of a vintage feel.
