The weather in North Texas has become very cold it was 25F (-4C) last night – even though we have not had any snow, my card today is just perfect for the conditions using the beautiful Snow is Glistening Stamp Set.

IF you have been following my Facebook page you will know that Stampin’ UP! have a special suite of products that are just available for the month of November ………..or until stocks last – that dreaded statement – which is basically telling us not to prevaricate!
I will be sharing a number of cards over the next few weeks using some of the products from the Snowflake Showcase suite – starting today with the Snow is Glistening Stamp Set and the White Velvet Paper.
I know there is still some time before the Christmas holidays, but that time flies by so fast ~ who else can’t believe it is mid-October already?
So a little planning ahead is in order and today’s card is one I really love, using one of my new favorite colors, Soft Sea Foam paired with Mossy Meadow ~ not traditional Christmas colors I hear you say, but I do like to use contemporary ones.
Although I used a the greeting from the Star of Light stamp set the other features of the card are from the Sprig Punch and embossing with the Blizzard Thinlets Die.,,,, yep – embossing with a die – who knew you could do that?
We are just coming up to the end of the first month for the 2018 Holiday Catalog, I am not sure if you are ready to start your Christmas cards just yet but the Joyous Noel Suite on pages 28 and 29 is a really good place to start. A lovely stamp set, decorative paper, embellishments, glimmer paper and the cute Sprig Punch.
Today’s card uses 4 of these new goodies in traditional Christmas/Holiday colors and a slightly ‘untraditional’ fold.
At the beginning of December I shared the PEACE Pennants project I designed for Craft Project Central, I really enjoyed creating this 3D piece of home decor and decided to create a slightly more specific one for Christmas.
MERRY means ‘Cheerful and Lively’ and perfect for the 5 wood blocks I had and for my Christmas Day post.

I have one more Christmas themed treat box to share before the BIG Day. As many of you may know I am an ex-pat Brit living in North Texas for a little over 16 years.
One of the Christmas traditions in the UK is to have Christmas Crackers on the table. In our family we used to pull them after we had eaten the main course and before we tucked into the dessert of Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies with either brandy butter or whipped cream.
I love the simplicity of this card and the message of Peach on Earth from the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set. I made the one with the white card base first then thought it might look a little richer with a Cherry Cobbler card base. I like them both – it would be difficult to choose one over the other. I had a little bottle filled with sweeties given to me at a craft retreat – the sweeties were soon gone but I could not bring myself to throw away the bottle, so I tucked it away in a corner………… knowing that one day I would find a use for it.
