Happy Birthday ~ Shadow Effect

Birthday cards are probably the most type of card we make and send, yes well Thank You cards are right up there as well – I do send a lot of those!  ………..

………Back to birthday cards……  I like to make a batch of about half a dozen so that I have a few in my stash in case I need one in a hurry.  In the 2017 – 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog there is a single die, tucked away on page 213 (and pictures on page 76) which makes a lovely center piece for my card.  I used it as a single layer – which was fine, but felt it needed a little something more so I doubled it up to form a ‘shadow’ effect, and here I have a video to share the technique with you 🙂 Continue reading →

Happy Birthday, Gorgeous ~ flowers this time

Earlier in the week I shared a couple of cards featuring the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set.  Those cards showed the balloons, today I am sharing cards using the flower stamps, perfect for birthdays or maybe ‘just because’

As I said in my earlier post, this set has 32 pieces,  flowers, leaves and balloons plus 13 different greetings!  If you are looking for a set that covers most occasions this is the one for you!  Continue reading →

Happy Birthday, Gorgeous ~ Stampin’ Up!

Today I have two cards to share, both made with the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous Stamp Set.  This set has 32 pieces,  flowers, leaves and balloons plus 13 different greetings!  If you are looking for a set that covers most occasions this is the one for you!  Oh…. and there is even a ‘BELATED’ stamp – just to cover us for those little ‘whoopsies’ when dates escape us!

Both cards feature balloons and one the ‘Happy Birthday’ thinlet die that is available as a bundle with this set (saving a whopping 10% if you buy them together) Continue reading →

Heat embossing ~ Stampin’ Up!

I am sure I have said in past – but it is always worth repeating….. I LOVE heat embossing.  The magic of that powder melting down and creating a fantastic background or focal point on the card – such a WOW factor, and to be honest almost a right of passage for any card-crafter.

I use this technique in a lot of my classes – in fact in my August Christmas/Holiday Card Stamp Camp on August 18th & 19th one of the cards will feature heat embossing.  Check out on the calendar tab above for more details

Hershey’s Nuggets…….. mmmmm!

I love to take candy (sweets) and make them into something a little bit special.  I have been decorating Hershey’s Nuggets for several years now – giving them as thank you’s and selling them at craft fairs in the run up to Christmas.  They are very quick and easy to do, taking just a few supplies……. and you can use them for just about any occasion you can think of.  The ones I am sharing today were for a July 4th dinner we were invited to a couple of weeks ago. Red White and Blue Eastern Beauty ~ video tutorial

Back in early May, Stampin’ Up! did an early release on one of the new bundles from the 2017 – 2018 Annual catalog.  The Eastern Beauty Bundle included the stamp set, coordinating thinlet dies, card and ink pads in three of the new in-colors.  Needless to say I, like many other demonstrators fell on this set – it is beautiful and so very versatile and the rich tones of the new colors were a perfect foil for the stamps.  I have some I will be sharing in the coming days.

I was planning to make some cards for July 4th and the stamp set was sitting on my workbench so I picked it up with some Real Red and Night of Navy ink and this was the result!

Grown with Love ~ Stampin’ Up!

Flowers are my weakness, I am always drawn to those stamp sets with flowers, but as I explained in a post the other day – I ration myself otherwise I would have nothing but flowers in my stash.  So when I ordered a set the other week I deliberately chose a set that had flowers but other things as well – Grown with Love has a little cart, flower-pot and watering can as well as flowers and best yet it has coordinating dies which make it a snap to cut everything out with my Big Shot.
