Cleaning Adhesive from Scissors ~ Video

My scissors and paper piercing tools tend to accumulate ‘sticky stuff’ on the blades, I use them a lot in my design work as well as in my classes.  So it is not surprising that cutting pieces of Tear and Tape and trimming Stampin’ Dimensionals with my paper snips leaves a little of the adhesive behind on the blades.  I rarely use my paper piercing tool to piece paper but I do use it a lot to pick up mini glue dots and Stampin’ dimensionals and to remove the backing paper from the Tear and Tape double sided tape.

Soft Sea Foam Christmas

I know there  is still some time before the Christmas holidays, but that time flies by so fast ~ who else can’t believe it is mid-October already?

So a little planning ahead is in order and today’s card is one I really love, using one of my new favorite colors, Soft Sea Foam paired with Mossy Meadow ~ not traditional Christmas colors I hear you say,  but  I do like to use contemporary ones.

Although I used a the greeting from the Star of Light stamp set the other features of the card are from  the Sprig Punch and embossing with the Blizzard Thinlets Die.,,,, yep – embossing with a die – who knew you could do that?

Black Ice Technique with Video Tutorial

Time to share a technique ~ Black Ice.  It creates a great focal point to a card with a really unusual finish.  As this is an embossing technique it also gave me a chance to pull out my Heat Gun which has been sadly neglected for a while 🙂

Looking at the color combination I think this would make for a great card for the guys in our lives and the second sample with a little flower and bow would be great for a feminine card.

Stamparatus ~ Using Background Stamps Video Tutorial

This is the seventh of my videos on techniques using the Stamparatus and it features using the large background stamps particularly the Sheet Music Background Stamp.

The Stamparatus is Stampin’ UP!’s latest tool  and an absolute must have for all stampers.  It helps you perfectly align your stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and accurately and gets complete ink coverage – ‘cos you can do a ‘do-over’ as my video today will show.

For You with Graceful Garden

The Graceful Garden Stamp Set is perfect for making a really peaceful and elegant card.  The ‘for you’ sentiment can be used for just about any occasion, birthday, anniversary, thank you, thinking of you, or simply ‘just because’

I have paired the stamp set with Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand which are peaceful colors as well and then a scattering of Basic Jewel Pearls to give even more of an elegant touch.

Pop of Petals with Vellum and Wink of Stella Technique

I have been using Vellum Card quite a bit in my projects recently and I wanted to show how it can be stamped on and used as an embellishment as well as a layer.  As so often happens when I am creating I ‘lost’ something on my workbench (of course it was right under my nose!) but I spent a few minutes searching for it and came across my ‘Wink of Stella‘ ~ now that is something that I have not used for some time.

Along with the Pop of Petals Stamp set, I used both of these beauties to create today’s card.  If you scroll down a little way you will also see the video showing how I used the Wink of Stella on the Vellum.

Abstract Impressions ~ Thank You Card

Every year Stampin’ UP! introduces 5 new colors that are available for 2 years, at the end of this time, the IN-Colors as they are known, are retired, Coastal Cabana was one of those  colors.   Earlier this year Stampin’ UP! revamped some of it color families and thrill of thrills Coastal Cabana reappeared as a new core color in the Brights family.  I have used it a lot in the last few months, if you check out my last post I used it for a scrapbook page.

I used Abstract Impressions on todays’ card and paired Coastal Cabana with Pool Party – a perfect combination in my mind!

Rooted in Nature Birthday for a Guy

Last week was my eldest nephew’s birthday, he is now in his early 30’s and lives in the UK –  I find it hard to make cards for the fella’s in my life but the Rooted in Nature stamp set gives me a great choice of ‘suitable for a guy’ images and words without being ‘too sappy’!

I used a masking technique to create the card along with my Sponge Brayer to apply the ink ‘ombre’ style.
