Collar Fold Card – Video Tutorial

I have two cards and one video tutorial to share with you today.  I love this Collar Fold, it gives me a chance to showcase our Designer Series Paper and also to show both sides of the same piece.  Each card using the same fold but in two different colors, both would be perfect for a birthday or thank you card, although my pink version was designed as a Valentine it would make a great anniversary card as well.

I used a number of goodies from the  2018 Occasions Catalog ~  the greetings from the Southern Serenade Stamp Set, Petal Pair Embossing Folders, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Petal Passions Embellishments. Continue reading

Berry Burst String Art

First of all ………………. wishing you all a Happy Easter!

Today’s card uses a technique from one of my recent technique classes, it uses Whisper White Bakers Twine, bottle of ink and a telephone directory and not a stamp set in sight!

Every time you make a card with this technique it will be different as it depends on how the string is laid down on the card.  I plan to make a video tutorial on this as soon as tax season is over on April 17th………….. so watch this space! Continue reading

Sweet Soiree Embellishments

Tucked away on page 13 of the 2018 Occasions catalog is a packet of the cutest little embellishments ~ just perfect for quick and very pretty decorating of cards and other paper crafting items.  The packet included ribbon, tassels, mini clothes pins, washi tape, die-cuts on card and vellum, which include cakes, flowers, leaves and numbers.

I have been enchanted with them and have made some cards and bags to share over the coming weeks, which also feature the Sweet Soiree DSP and the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. Continue reading

Sweet and Simple ~ Timeless Textures

Timeless Textures just has to be one of my favorite stamp sets, it can be used to give texture for another focal point or can feature on its own – just as I have today.

This is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal.  Then you find the basics such as stock, herbs and spices etc are ‘pantry’ items and it turns out that the meal was made with a whole host of ‘hidden’ stuff we did not know about.

You’re Inspiring ~Ink and Share Blog Hop

Today I am participating in a blog hop and you will have arrived from Jacqueline Bobeldjik-Schilder’s post.   This month’s theme is Spring/Easter.  I was really stuck which to choose as we are a week away from Easter and my garden is full of blooming daffodils, tulips and my peach tree is in full blossom!

I could not decide which theme to focus on so as the You’re Inspiring stamp set has daffodils and a ‘Happy Easter’ greeting I am able to cover both!  I wonder if my fellow ‘hoppers’ had the same thought? Continue reading

Painted Harvest – Simple Eclipse Technique

I have shared a number of cards using the very popular Eclipse technique – typically it uses letters but it does take a little time to assemble.  Using a punch  makes  a very quick and simple way to create this lovely 3D effect.

I broke out the beautiful Painted Harvest stamp set and used 3-step stampin’ to create the sunflowers.  Read on to find the video tutorial………………….. Continue reading

Sweet and Simple ~ Picture Perfect Birthday # 3

Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal.  Then you find the basics such as stock, herbs and spices etc are ‘pantry’ items and it turns out that the meal was made with a whole host of ‘hidden’ stuff we did not know about.

Tuttie Fruitti Cuties

Today I have a ‘twofer’ to share.  Last November I went to the Stampin’ UP! On-Stage (convention) where we had a chance to look and play with some of the products that were coming up in the 2018 Occasions Catalog – one of the projects we made were a couple of tags with the Tutti Fruiti Suite.  They are really cute and I bought them home and put them on my workbench – not really sure what to do with them – until last weekend!  It came to me ……………. Touches of Texture Pop-Out Card with Video Tutorial

Here in the USA the clocks sprang forward this morning, who would have thought that losing an hour could have such an impact!  The mornings have gotten darker again and it will stay lighter this evening but it does mess up meal times and throws the Daisy Mae and Cici (our Yorkies)  out of wack completely.

I have a card with a little surprise when it is opened to share today, it would be a great card for almost anyone, particularly for children with the right colors etc  ~ but today I chose to use more feminine colors with one of my favorite stamp sets ~ Touches of Texture and the greeting is HUGS – just perfect for any occasion 🙂 Continue reading
