Gift Box Tutorial

I am currently hosting a Stampin’ Up marker share.  There are 38 markers in the Many Marvellous Markers case (with room for the 10 In-colors) It can be a little bit on the pricy side to make the $109.95 investment in one go – but a ‘share’ over 4 months can be much more manageble ~ each member of the share recieves all of the markers inone of the color families each month and on one month will also recieve the fantastic sturdy storage case.  Continue reading

Watercolor Wonder from Stampin’ Up

I like to try new techniques and to revisit ones I have tried before.  Watercoloring a design on a card is hugely satisfying.  At first people are a little daunted by ‘coloring in’ but with the right tools it is very easy.  I wanted to feature how many different types of ink Stampin Up offered and the different ways they can be used, so I put together a stamp camp where we made 12 cards (2 each of 6 designs) and then to present them in a box which would make a great gift. Decorating envelopes with a Brayer

I take a lot of time and effort to design and make a card whether it is for a friend or family member or for one of my classes and so I like to decorate the envelopes I send my cards in.  I may use simple stamped image or maybe a more  detailed technique, so I want to introduce you to (or maybe remind you of) a brayer technique.  I tried to write the instructions but they were becoming far too complicated so a short video is in order 🙂 Continue reading

Mixed Bunch Wedding Congratulations

A very dear friend of my Mum’s got married last week ~ a perfect reason to make and send a card.  Stampin Up’s Mixed Bunch stamp set was one of the most popular when it was launched a couple of years ago, partly because it is very versatile but also, I think, because there is a punch that works with all 6 stamps. I have to say that I prefer a punch to ‘fussy-cutting’ any day of the week.  So here is my card……… Continue reading

Paper Pumpkin Ink Spots

I started to subscribe to ‘My Paper Pumpkin’ when it was launched in March 2013 and have enjoyed opening the box of goodies each month and working on the projects within.  As I completed the projects I could not bear to lose/discard the stamps and ink spots that were part of each kit, so I simply popped them into a couple of the cute boxes the kits come in each month.  Well, I was tidying up my craft area yesterday and came across the boxes and was amazed by the number and range of colors of ink spots I have now got!! Flower Shop for Mother’s Day

Here in the US we celebrate Mother’s Day on May 11th this year.  In the UK it was celebrated in March. Before I started to make cards myself I was always struggling to find cards to send back to the UK for our Mum’s, in fact one year I bought some Mother’s Day cards in May and tucked them away until the following March!  It is so much easier now that I make my own cards. So this is ‘ card for this year and one of the projects for my April card class. Continue reading
