Happy June! In the early part of last December I had a class to create a flip over calendar, everyone loved it and made me promise we will do another later in this new year! I thought I might start each month this year by posting the page for that month, so today I share, June, which you can see has bright, cheerful blossoms with butterflies as its theme.

When one of my lovely customers asked me a question on them I was unable to give her a good answer and made the decision I was going to teach myself how to use them!

Continue readingHome decor is a particular favorite of mine to create. Once I have my theme, I usually start with some Designer Series Paper, then pull out ribbon, embellishments and card that will go with the papers, then I go to work.
I had a request from my ladies for seasonal 8 x 8 samplers they could display, so we started with summer and will continue with the Fall themed one in August. The starting point for me is the beautiful Hydrangea Hill DSP – which is still available for a few more days, so please get your order in now to avoid disappointment 🙂
Continue readingIt is just over 3 weeks since the new 2021 -2022 Stampin’ UP! Catalog was launched and the new ‘in-colors’ released. Each year Stampin’ UP! introduces 5 colors that are available to us for 2 years, they are very carefully selected to meet current trends and we get ink, card, paper, ribbon and embellishments to coordinate everything together.
I am really rather taken with this years choices and created today’s card to show all 5 colors, with a little of the ribbon and the in-color jewels, along with the Elegantly Said Stamp Set. I did not use a greeting – let the colors and images do all the work.

My cards – yes there is more than one today – feature the Sand and Sea Suite, picking out the colors from the Designer Series Paper for my layers and ink, then finishing with the Opal Rounds and Seaside Shells stickers.
Continue readingToday’s card is very quick and easy using the Elegantly Said Stamp Set along with the stunning beautiful Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper, which has all the bling I need ~ copper, gold and silver foil on a black background.
I simply cut the paper with my paper trimmer, added some Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Matte Black Dots, a little stamping and the card is complete, sometimes less is simply more!

Continue readingSometimes we need a sympathy card, I know I have had to send out a some in the last couple of months, but it gives me a sense that at least I have done ‘something’ to acknowledge the loss a family is feeling.
It is difficult to judge what colors to use, black, or dark colors versus something a little brighter, I pondered on this and decided to go with Very Vanilla and Just Jade and use the peaceful trail of leaves from the Very Versailles Stamp Set.

Continue readingA couple of weeks ago I designed a Spring themed scrapbook page for a blog hop, I had cut lots of pieces using the Pierced Blooms Dies from the Subtles family of Stampin’ UP! colors. Well when I finished the scrapbook page I had a bunch of pieces left over – never one to waste anything, I used them to make today’s card. Also it gives me the chance to show you how scrapbooking ideas and techniques can be used in your card making.
Although I made it into a thank you card, I think it would make a very pretty birthday card if you change out the greeting.
Continue readingToday’s card is probably the most versatile one I have ever put together! I think it would work great for the fellas in our lives, sympathy, get well, thinking of you, a ‘just because’ sort of card – just about anything – don’t you agree?
The images and greeting is from the Love of Leaves Stamp Set and I used the coordinating Stitched Leaves Dies to cut the little gold leaf accent.
