Best Fishes – Jar of Love

My oldest nephew celebrated his 30th birthday on the first of September – I still remember the day he was born and his early years when he had a fascination for snails, his mother dreaded emptying his pockets at the end of the day as he would tuck them in his pockets as he found them on his adventures each day – I recall making him a birthday cake with snails on it – his 3rd birthday I think!

He has a wicked and very dry sense of humor, also the knack of keeping a very straight face and it takes a few moments to dawn on you what he just said!  For the first time in 17 years I was able to spend the day with him this year and this is the card I gave him. Continue reading

Paisleys and Posies – Pootles Challenge 012

Today I am playing along with Pootles color challenge 012.  We were challenged to create a card using Tip Top Taupe, Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron.  These are all current In-colors and while I really like them all, it had not occurred to me to use them together but along with the Paisley and Posies stamp set…. they really work! Vertical Greetings ~ Stampin’ Up!

When the 2016 ~ 2017 Annual Catalog came out one of the sets that sparked my imagination was Vertical Greetings, a set with 3 long skinny trees and 6 vertical greetings, I knew it would lend itself to some pretty and simple cards.  So here is the first of what I hope will be many designs.
