Best Fishes – Jar of Love

My oldest nephew celebrated his 30th birthday on the first of September – I still remember the day he was born and his early years when he had a fascination for snails, his mother dreaded emptying his pockets at the end of the day as he would tuck them in his pockets as he found them on his adventures each day – I recall making him a birthday cake with snails on it – his 3rd birthday I think!

He has a wicked and very dry sense of humor, also the knack of keeping a very straight face and it takes a few moments to dawn on you what he just said!  For the first time in 17 years I was able to spend the day with him this year and this is the card I gave him.

Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Crumb Cake Card ~ Scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Marina Mist Card ~ run thru Big Shot with Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder

Layer 2:  3 1/2 x 2 1/4 Early Expresso Card

Layer 3: 3 1/4 x 2 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Colors: Early Expresso, Pool Party and Calypso Coral

All the images and greeting is from the Jar of Love stamp set, it is very versatile, I fussy cut the little fish and attached him to the card with a mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  I pulled the Calypso Coral thru the card using a couple of Enamel Dots then a couple of fish on the envelope.

I have a confession ~ it was not until after I finished the card that I realized there is a die to cut out that little fish in the Everyday Jars Framelits !!!!
