Flowering Flourishes is another of those stamp sets that lend itself to almost any occasion – and the occasion this time is my Mum-in-Law’s birthday. She is about to celebrate her 94th birthday and pinks are her favorite color.
I also used the ‘splodgy’ stamp from Awesomely Artistic and the greeting is from the Wetlands stamp set.
Base card : 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 Rose Red~ scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 and insert: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White card cut with the Tiny Wave Rotary Cutting Blade
Ink colors ~ Rose Red & Pink Pirouette Ink
The edges of the white layer are sponged in Rose Red, and the splodges are in Pink Pirouette. I used the Tiny Wave Rotary blade on a card I shared earlier in the week – truth to tell I cut about 6 – 8 sheets of card at the same time and set them aside so they would be handy – I really like the soft and feminine look this gives.
I stamped the greeting on Pink Pirouette card then layered it onto Rose Red. The ‘tails’ at the back of the greeting are punched with the Bow Builder Punch.
Since the card is going via international post I kept it as flat as possible, by using some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to add some sparkle to the card without adding bulk or bumpy bits!
I hope you enjoyed it – let me know your thoughts below …………
