Stamp Set of the Month to the rescue

You cannot always get notice of the need for a card, so having some ‘cards to hand’ is always a good thing.  We had a bereavement in my husband’s family, as we live so far away, we will not be able to attend the services but at least we can let them know we are  thinking of them.

Last July’s stamp set of the month was Flowering Flourishes and  I made a  series of cards which did not have any sentiment so could be used for most any occasion.

As I already had the design and the ‘recipe’ I was able to put together a card fairly quickly.

July 4

RECIPE:

The Coastal Cabana base card is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 (scored @ 4 1/4)

The Bermuda Bay layer is cut at  5 x4 and the bottom edge decorated with Scalloped Edge Punch.

The three panels are made from Whisper White cut to 3 x 1 1/2 and the opposite corners rounded with a corner punch, the image were stamped and edges sponged with Coastal Cabana ink.

A length of 1/8″ Bermuda Bay taffeta ribbon and a smattering of pearls and we have a finished card.

I think the colors and the organic shape of the flower stem are restful and hopefully is gives the message without too much in the way of words.
