Last week my sister’s youngest son graduated from a UK university with a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering (amongst other things) A bit of a smart cookie (who must take after his aunt I’m sure!)
While at university he was a member of the Air Cadets which is linked to the Royal Air Force and during the early part of July he took his first solo flight. So many wonderful things to celebrate and hopefully the card I made and sent reflects the enormous pride I feel in his achievements.
The stamp set with the feathers has now retired but it was perfect for this occasion. I also used ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ for the background stamping and ‘Bravo’ stamp set which has a wide choice of greetings for messages of congratulations, encouragement and inspiration!
Card Base : 11 x 5 1/2 Pacific Point scored @ 2 3/4 and 5 1/2
Layer 1: 4 x 2 1/2 Whisper White card
Insert: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White
Ink Colors are Smoky Slate, Old Olive and Pacific Point.
I used a disc of Silver Glimmer paper cut using the 7/8 scalloped circle punch to cover the join for the leaves – and since it is going in the mail this reduced the bulk.
This is the same card but for a birthday this time – the greeting comes from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set.
The different colors on the ‘feathers’ comes from using a sponge dauber to tap Pacific Point and Old Olive ink at different places on the feather image then stamping onto Whisper White card.
Here are the main supplies used:
Happy Stamping 🙂
