Gift of Love ~ Hostess set from Stampin’ Up!

Did you know you could get FREE stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!?  There are a number of different stamp sets in the annual catalog that you can get for free for hosting a party or for placing an order for more than $150.

I am featuring one of the sets called ‘ Gift of Love’ today, which has a lovely flower and also features ‘2 step stampin’

This one features the flower as well as one of the sentiments.

Card Base: 11 x 4 1/4 Soft Suede ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Crushed Curry card ~ run thru the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder

Flower Layers: 4 1/2  x 2 Very Vanilla Card layered onto 4 3/8 x 2 1/8 Soft Suede

Greeting Layers: 2 x 1 1/4 Very Vanilla layered onto 2 1/8 x  1 3/8 Soft Suede

Ink Colors:  Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Old Olive.

Half a Delicate White Doily gives a delicate finish to the card.

This card (inspired by Julie Davidson) has the flower outline stamped ‘tone on tone’ in Flirty Flamingo then stamped in black, Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green .  I used the Layering Square Framelits to ‘fussy cut’ the part of the flower I wanted then layered onto Basic Black and Flirty Flamingo cut with slightly larger scalloped squares.

Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 Whisper White extra thick card ~ scored at 4 1/4

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Basic Black

Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Flirty Flamingo card

Three tiny pearls in the center of my flower to highlight the stamens.

My third card with this set also used a couple of stamps from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set ~ the ‘splodges’ and the greeting.  Once again the flower image was stamped onto a piece of vanilla card the cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelits then layered onto a Designer Series Paper Banner with some loops of silver metallic thread and a cute bow using the Blushing Bride Bakers Twine.

Card Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Sahara Sand ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Banner: 1 1/2 x 4 1/4 DSP

Ink Colors: Memento Tuxedo Black, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz

…………… and my final card………..

I love the fresh colors in this card (inspired by Judy May)  Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi, which set off the black of the flower beautifully.  The big ‘slodge’ stamp comes from the Work of Art Stamp set.

Card Base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Wild Wasabi Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1: 5 x 3 3/4 Blushing Bride Card

Layer 2: 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 Whisper White.

A generous looping of Black/White Bakers Twine and a couple of rhinestones finished the card.

I am sure you will agree this is a very versatile set allowing you to make a variety of beautiful cards for all occasions.  I hope you like them – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title
