Advent Calendar – Countdown to Christmas ~ Day 3

Back in October my friend, Elly, from the UK and I designed an advent calendar using a 24 cup mini muffin pan.  During December I will share one of the squares, with a brief description of each.

You will want to open each post, as there will be a little treat behind each one!  Some days it might be some virtual ‘candy’ or sweeties as we call them in the UK, other times it might be a card, 3D project or a video!

Each of the squares start with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch base with 4 little magnets stuck to the back with glue dots.  The primary colors are  Real Red, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. Ink Colors included those above, plus two neutrals of  Tip Top Taupe and Early Expresso.

Todays square uses a whole bunch of circle punches.  The candy cane is from the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp set used on yesterday’s square, punched with the 1 3/8 circle then layered onto 1 1/2 gold glimmer paper circle.  The little bow comes from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and the greeting from the Oh What Fun set stamped with Smoky Slate ink.

Today’s virtual treat:

It was granddaughter #3’s birthday the day before mine in early November.  This card in Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate and whisper white is the one we sent to her.  If you look very closely you will just see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the balloons.

The stamp set is Balloon Celebration and Brushwork Alphabet to spell out her name.  Each letter was cut with the 3/4 circle punch then sponged in Pink Pirouette ink before being attached with stampin’ dimensionals.

This was a great card for sending international post as it was relatively flat without a bumpy embellishments!

I hope you enjoyed today’s treat,  I would appreciate it very much if you would like and share this post and if you are on Pinterest perhaps you would go ahead and pin it for me:-)…………. all the links are at the bottom of this post.
