The final day for our calendar, it is hard to believe it is Christmas Eve, I am going to spend the day listening to Christmas music on BBC Radio 2 and getting ready for tomorrow. I sometimes think I enjoy Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day itself – there is more of a sense of magic and anticipation!
Back in October, when my friend, Elly, from the UK and I designed the advent calendar using a 24 cup mini muffin pan, we had a lot of fun deciding which square would go on each day but I knew we would have this square for today!
I hope you have enjoyed the countdown journey – I certainly enjoyed sharing with you ~ leave me a comment I would love to hear from you.
You will want to open each post, as there will be a little treat behind each one! Some days it might be some virtual ‘candy’ or sweeties as we call them in the UK, other times it might be a card, 3D project or a video!
Each of the squares start with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch base with 4 little magnets stuck to the back with glue dots. The primary colors are Real Red, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. Ink Colors included those above, plus two neutrals of Tip Top Taupe and Early Expresso.
Square 24 uses one of the greetings from the ‘Oh What Fun’ Stamp set – to give it extra pizzazz we used Silver Embossing powder, then cut with a 2′ circle punch, the cut little bow is part of the Cookie Cutter Builder punch and a little scrap of red glimmer paper.
Today’s Virtual Treat:
The completed Advent Calendar ~ it was a joy to design and make, all the more joyful because Elly and I worked on it together!
The muffin pan cups hold 2 Hershey’s Kisses comfortably – although they are all gone now!
