Last October we got some new neighbors, a delightful young couple who told us they had just found out they were expecting TWINS! …….. and she seemed so calm and collected about it! They arrived in mid-April ~ a little girl and a little boy. My grandmother used to refer to this as a ‘pigeon pair’ I had no idea why – so I just looked it up……………… Twins of opposite sex, boy and girl: so called because pigeons lay two eggs which normally hatch a pair of birds, a male and a female……. absolutely fascinating that nature will take care that there are not more ‘hims’ than ‘hers’
I needed a card of course, but I am ashamed to say I don’t have much in the way of baby themed stamps – so had to improvise a little – here is what I came up with…..
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Wisteria Wonder ~ scored @ 2 3/4 & 5 1/2
Layer 1: 4 x 2 1/2 Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate (silver side up)
Layer 2 : 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 Wisteria Wonder Card
Layer 3: 4 x 2 1/2 Whisper White Card
Wisteria Wonder ink was used to stamp ‘Congratulations’ which is from the Floral Phrases stamp set.
The Owl Builder Punch has a little vest which I used to make the little top out of scraps of Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist DSP, tiny strips of card added to the top and strung onto a length of linen thread then glue dots to attach the little tops to the card.
If you look very closely to the bottom right hand side of the card you will see a little heart enamel shape in Wisteria Wonder – I found these in my stash, completely forgetting they were there – they are so pretty I think I will be using them on some other projects very soon!
I hope you like today’s project – please let me know in a comment ~ by using that little link just under the title.
