I am not terribly good at doing cards for the fellas in my life, so I tend to trawl the internet to seek inspiration to use the products I have in my stash.
This one makes good use of another of the 6 x 6 paper stacks, some of you might remember the challenge I gave myself a year to 18 months ago to use my Designer Series Papers instead of hoarding them!
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake Card – scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Wood Textures DSP Stack
Ink Color: Early Expresso and Crumb Cake
Using the 2nd to largest Of the Lots of Labels Framelits and the Big Shot I cut out the center of my piece of DSP. I used the lacy leaf stamp from the Colorful Seasons Stamp set on the front of the card base with Crumb Cake ink then used Early Expresso for the Happy Birthday, before adhering the DSP with some snail.
The Gold Glimmer Paper leaf was cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlet Dies and then a ‘bunch’ of linen thread created by wrapping the thread around 2 fingers 4 – 5 times – tying in the middle then simply cutting the loops.
This is a nice ‘flat’ card which is perfect for putting in the post – especially if, like me, you send a lot of cards internationally.
I have used the Colorful Seasons and Seasonal Layers Thinlets in a lot of projects lately – check out the calendar posts by clicking here if you buy both the stamp set and framelits as a bundle you get to take a 10% discount!
My inspiration for this card was from Connie Stewart
