Sweet and Simple ~ Lovely Wishes

Today’s card is another in my Sweet and Simple series where I have set myself a little challenge using a small amount of equipment and supplies – kind of like one of those cookery shows where you are given 3 or 4 ingredients and you have to turn it into a spectacular 4 course meal.  Then you find the basics such as stock, herbs, spices and pasta/rice etc are ‘pantry’ items and it turns out that the meal was made with a whole host of ‘hidden’ stuff we did not know about.

So the ‘pantry items’ for my challenge are going to be, adhesive, Stampin Trimmer, Bone folder and Paper-Piercing tool.  I am going to attempt to create  with 1 stamp set and some ink pads, 1 embellishment (other than paper or card)  and one additional tool, probably a punch.  Click here to see the first in the series.

I chose the Lovely Wishes Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog – it has lots of ‘swirly’ images with leaves and dinky little flowers that remind me of tulips.

Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Extra Thick Whisper White Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5  3/8 x 2 1/8 Whisper White Card

Layer 2: 3 7/8 x  3 3/8 Soft Sky Card

Layer 3: 3 3/4 x 3 1/4  Whisper White Card

Ink Color: Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist

The stamp set is a photopolymer one so it allows you to do 2 or 3 step stampin’ with easy line up, so I stamped the outline first in Soft Sky then the leaf ‘filler’ secondly with Lemon Lime Twist.        ( the card design was inspired by Billie Moan)

Layers 1 and 2 were attached using Multipurpose liquid glue – this card has very small borders on layers, liquid glue gives a little working time to manipulate the white layer to get an even borders.  Stampin Dimensionals were used to attach it to the base card.

My challenge is to use one embellishment but on this one I pushed the bounds a little and used 2 – as I did not use any additional tools I figured an extra embellishment would be OK.  So to finish off ~ a little bow with Linen Thread and some Glitter and Clear Epoxy shapes,  these have a choice of little teardrops and circles and just give the merest hint of sparkle.
