Flirty Flamingo and Beautiful Bouquet

In the next couple of days the 2017 – 2018 catalog will retire and so will some of the products within it.  Flirty Flamingo has been one of the In-colors for the last 2 years and it is due to retire too………….. BUT it is coming back in the new 2018 – 2019 catalog as one of the new core colors…. so Goodbye and Hello Flirty Flamingo!

I also reached out for one of my favorite stamp sets – partly because it has flowers and partly because it has some lovely greetings – if you are looking for a versatile stamp set….. look no further than Beautiful Bouquet.

Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Flirty Flamingo Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card ~ run thru the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder

Layer 2: 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 Pear Pizzazz Card

Layer 3 3 1/4 x 2 Whisper White

Ink Colors: Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz

Beautiful Bouquet is a photopolymer stamp set  so it is very easy to line up the images to build up your flower – I stamped the stem first then the tiny flower buds.  I practiced on a scrap of paper beforehand just so I could get the stamp the right way up and my ‘eye’ in for lining up!

I chose to use Pear Pizzazz because it has a coordinating ribbon, 3/8 Shimmer Ribbon, as I have said in the past ~ my color choices are often driven by the ribbon in my drawer!

The greeting is cut with the 1 3/8 scalloped circle punch then layered onto 1 1/2 circle cut from the same Pear Pizzazz card.

Another thing I have overlooked recently is Dazzling Diamonds glitter – it has been sitting there quietly waiting to be noticed again – so I used a little of the fine tip glue pen on the center of each flower then sprinkled over a little Dazzling Diamonds – it gives a subtle sheen and it is just noticeable in the picture.
