We had a new family move in a couple of houses along from us – now I am not a great one for cooking a dish or baking a cake as a welcome gift but I am a card maker and so I went with what I am best at and made them a card!
I left it on their doorstep early one morning when walking the dogs, then last Sunday there was a knock on our front door and there was the new family of 4 with a Triple Chocolate cake as a thank you for the welcome. Daisy Mae and CiCi (our yorkies) gave their usual greeting then got lots of hugs from the children – so their morning turned out perfectly as well.
I pulled out one of my favorite sets for this card, Beautiful Bouquet, I love the way I can build a flower in any colors I need. I also used two of the new core colors, Poppy Parade and Petal Pink, a new ribbon and the new Subtle Embossing Folder.
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Poppy Parade Card ~ scoerd @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Petal Pink Card, run thru the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder
Layer 2: 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 Silver Foil Card
Layer 3: 3 1/2 x 2 Whisper White Card
Ink Colors: Poppy Parade and Mossy Meadow
The WELCOME is from the Animal Outing stamp set then cut with the Classic Label Punch then layered onto another label punch piece which is the normal length. The new ribbon is the 1/4 Poppy Parade mini striped ribbon – it is so pretty and makes a smashing bow as you can see.
