Happy Halloween Everyone ~ we are due rain later today which might just put a bit of a damper for the trick and treaters this evening. But I have the sweeties (candy) ready plus my witch’s broom and hat that I put just outside the door to show the ‘Witch is IN!’ (seriously I do have them)
Today’s card is one we made during my September card class and is a waterfall card – I will have a video ready soon on my method for making them – so watch this space 🙂
Card base: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Gray Granite Card
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper
Layer 2: 4 1/2 x 1 Pumpkin Pie Card
Strip for pulling mechanism: 11 x 2 Pumpkin Pie Card ~ scored @ 2, 2 3/4, 3 1/2 & 4 1/4
Ink Colors: Memento Tuxedo Black and Pumpkin Pie.
The Spooky Sweets stamp set is perfect for this card as each of the stamps fit perfectly into the 1 7/8 squares, allowing each picture to be revealed as you pull the little string down. This stamp set has a coordinating Spooky Bats Punch, so I stamped these on a piece of Whisper White card then scattered them on the squares of the ‘waterfall’
I could not resist adding one of the darling Spider Trinkets and a twist of the Black 3/8 Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
I have one tip to share when making this design – don’t use Stampin Dimensionals to attach any pieces as they will prevent the mechanism from working. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Glue Dots 🙂
I would like to thank Dawn Griffin for her inspiration for this card.
