Rooted in Nature – Sweet and Simple Guy Birthday Card

I shall say again, as I have many times in the past – making cards for the fellas in my life is always a challenge – and so it was for my husband’s birthday earlier this month!

My current favorite stamp set for fellas is Rooted in Nature, it has the perfect images without being too ‘fruu – fruu’ and sappy 🙂  Coupled with the Wood Textured DSP stack and the Leaves Trinkets it brings the woody theme together.

Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Cajun Craze Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1:  5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card

Layer 2: 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 Wood Textured DSP ~ one of the dark wood sheets

Layer 3: 5 1/4 x 2 Wood Textured DSP ~ one of the light wood sheets

Ink Colors: Mossy Meadow

The trees were stamped directly onto the light wood DSP  and over to the right so there is enough room for the Leaves Trinket and a little twist of Linen Thread.  All layers were adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue with a glue dot to hold the trinket and linen thread.

This card was very quick and easy to make, so is another in  my Sweet and Simple Challenge (click here to see other examples)
