Sponging Technique with Tasteful Textures

Today I am late with my post – to be honest I am a couple of days late – but I have a good reason!

On Saturday evening our house was struck by lightening!  A big flash, bang and the strong smell of ozone – it fried our cable service (internet, TV), all the switching powers supplies for various electronic devices ( including our phone service!) then a TV and the dishwasher! So we have spent the last couple of days piecing our lives back together – Friday we go shop for a dishwasher! 🙂

I have a video technique to share today which shows a simple but very effective technique – sponging – I use it a lot in my cards and other projects and I think it benefits from revisiting from time-to-time.

Portrait Version

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Rich Razzleberry Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1: 4 1/4 x 2 Very Vanilla Card ~ run thru the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder

Layer 2: 4 x 2 5/8 Basic Black Card

Layer 3: 3 5/8 x 2 3/8 Rich Razzleberry Card

Layer 4: 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Colors: Blushing Bride and Rich Razzleberry

I used the new Tasteful Textures Stamp Set for this card – it has 3 nice ‘texture’ stamps and 7 greetings so has a lot going for it!  Some 3/8 Glittered Organdy Ribbon and a Petal Pink Rhinestone were used for embellishments.  During my video you will see I switch from portrait to landscape just to show the design works well either way!

Hope you enjoy the video…………………….. please let me know in a comment below

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry to hear that but so thankful you are both safe. I hope there was no fire.
