Crumb Cake and Good Morning Magnolia

welcome back to my corner of the world.

Today’s card is a very simple design – using the beautiful Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set.  I try to use just one stamp set on a card and I particularly liked that this set has 3 great greetings that will fit into the punch I wanted to use as well as smaller flowers and leaves for decorating my envelope and the inside of the card.

I chose to use the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment, perfect for almost any occasion, the ‘hello’ sentiment would be perfect for a birthday and the ‘thank you’……. just speaks for itself 🙂

Card base:  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Crumb Cake Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Crumb Cake Card

Scrap of Very Vanilla Card

Ink Color: Mossy Meadow

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large magnolia onto my card layer – as I have arthritis is some of my fingers it can be quite difficult to manipulate the larger acrylic blocks – the Stamparatus does all the hard work for me.  click here for the technique

Once stamped I used my WInk of Stella to ‘smudge up’ some of the the ink and give it a little sheen, although the photo does not do that justice!  I then wound some Linen thread around the card a couple of times then tied off with a simple knot.

The greeting is also from the Good Morning Stamp Set cut with the everso useful Timeless Label Punch.  A couple of Pearl Basic Jewels and my card is complete.

A very simple card but I think it has a lot of impact, don’t you?
