welcome back to my corner of the world
A few months ago I was looking for inspiration to try something ‘now’ or ‘different’, looking in my supplies I came across my Water Color pencils. Now I know that they are not exactly new but as I had not used them in an absolute age they were going to be ‘different’ ……. for me at least!
Since that time I have used them on a number of projects and today’s card is no different, the holly leaves/berry stamp in the Christmas Gleaming Stamp set is just perfect for coloring and so it is this Christmas card came into being!
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Granny Apple Green Card – scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card ~ run thru big shot with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder
Layer 2: 4 x 2 1/2 Very Vanilla Card layered onto 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 Cherry Cobbler Card
Ink Colors: Sahara Sand, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and Water color pencils
I started by stamping the holly leaves first, then the greeting and finally using that great little ‘dotty’ stamp and Sahara Sand ink to backfill my empty space. A second set of leaves were stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card them fussy cut with my paper snips. I broke out my Watercolor Pencils to color these, smoothing out the color with my Blender Pen, which also helps the color to really ‘Pop’. A quick swipe with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to add a little glitter to my leaves before attaching the fussy cut ones to my card with a couple of Mini Stampin Dimensionals.
I could not resist using a little knot of the Cherry Cobbler 3/8 Diagonal Strip Ribbon to bring out the red in the card.
