You never know where inspiration will come from – todays’ color combo comes from a classic car I saw in a recent July 4th parade. The car had been beautifully restored and as soon as it drove by I said Petal Pink, Basic Black and Very Vanilla!!! I came straight home and created this card 🙂
- Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Petal Pink Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
- Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Basic Black Card
- Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Very Vanilla Card
- Ink Color: Tuxedo Black Memento and Petal Pink
Next came the decision on what to do with this combo – I went way out of the box by choosing the Tropical Leaf Stamp set with the coordinating Tropical Leaf Punch. You will not find these in the catalog as they are an on-line exclusive – if you scroll down a little there is a link to it in my on-line store.
Although this stamp set has some greetings I turned to my favorite Go To Greetings for my words, which as always, was stamped first, then I added the stems, 2 small leaves with the veins. Then I stamped 2 larger leaves on a scrap of Very Vanilla Card before adding the veins then cutting with the punch. Each of the leaves are then attached with a couple of Stampin Dimensionals.
A little knot of Black and White Gingham Ribbon and a scattering of Pearls to finish off.
