Remember, Remember the 5th of November………… Gunpowder, Treason and Plot!!!! This is a little riddle we learned in my home country of the UK – today is Guy Fawkes Day or Bonfire Night – the one occasion of the year when Brits let off fireworks! Read on for a bit more info ………………………
Today’s card is a celebration card featuring a little heat embossing and a fun fold
From the outside
- Base Card: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Lemon Lime Twist Card
- Layer 1: 6 x 5 1/4 Bright & Beautiful 6 x 6 Decorative Paper ~ scored @ 4″
- Layer 2: 5 1/2 x 4 Lemon Lime Twist Card ~ scored @ 2 3/4
- Layer 3: 3 3/4 x 2 11/2 Lemon Lolly Card ~ run thru the Cut & Emboss Machine with Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder
- Ink Color: Versamark with Gold Embossing Powder
This fold gives me the chance to show both sides of the decorative paper – sometimes I really struggle to decide which one to use!
My greeting is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp set – which I heat embossed for a little extra luxury (check out my video on Heat Embossing) I chose congratulations as it would work for anniversary, graduation, promotion, engagement, passing driving test or just about any occasion where an achievement was accomplished!
I added a bow using the Lemon Lime Twist 1/8 ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some extra sparkle!

On 5 November, people remember the plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament by celebrating ‘Bonfire Night’. All over Britain there are firework displays and bonfires with models of Guy Fawkes, which are burned on the fire. The Guy is made of old clothes and the clothes are filled with newspaper.
