I wanted to make a batch of birthday cards that would be great for children but not fall back on the usual pinks and blues, running thru all the lovely colors in the Stampin” Up! palette, I settled on Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight; and nothing is more birthday than balloons!

Break out your DSP ~ Diagonal Slash Card # 2
I promised to share more cards using the Diagonal Slash technique – here are 4 more using the same sheet of DSP from Monday’s Post. These cards are based on an idea from Patty Bennett, which is perfect for my on-going commitment to break out my DSP!
Birthday Bouquet from the Rose Garden
I just love this card – not entirely sure what to call the fold but it is sort of deconstructed, just held together by the Blushing Bride/Whisper White layers and 4 stampin’ dimensionals! While this is definitely a feminine card, change out the colors and the flower it would be a great fold for a fella as well (note to self – need to make a masculine version to share!!!)
Happy Mother’s Day
Here we are just a few short days from Mother’s Day here in the US. I made todays’ card with Mothers Day in mind but it does not actually have any specific mention of Mothers Day – so it would be perfect for a birthday card as well!
Shoe Box Swap ~ my card
Since I hosted a paper share earlier last month it made me think a lot more about using it instead of saving it. I am not at all sure what I am saving it for, but I just see a sheet that I love and just cannot bring myself to cut into that pristine 12 x 12 piece of loveliness – so my resolution from now on is to use it!
Back in February I was invited to a shoe box swap – never done one before and was not at all sure what I had committed to…….. but once I had, I decided the focus of my card was to be Designer Series Paper! I shared a bunch of cards from other ‘stamper’s in earlier posts.
Shoe Box Swap # 5 ~ Hearts and Home Thinlit Dies
This card uses the very popular Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies which gives us a cozy view from a window at the hills and lake beyond. It also continues my theme of digging into my stash of Designer series paper, this time the Love Blossoms DSP Paper stack which I used a lot for my valentine projects but works very well for this card. Happy Leap Year Day…………..
Happy Leap Year Day ~ We don’t get the chance to say that very often! I know a couple of people born on February 29th – it is nice to be able to wish them a happy birthday on the actual day.
I shared a card the other day using the ‘What I Love’ exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp set. That card used lovely subtle shades – the card I have to share to day uses the big bold Melon Mambo and Tuxedo Black!!!

Sky is the Limit ~ from Stampin’ Up!
I made this card for my youngest Step-son’s birthday last month, he is all grown up with a wife and babies of his own. Cards for the guys in our lives do not come to me naturally but with this stamp set ‘ Sky is the Limit’ it certainly made it easier to make.
This is one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp sets, which is available until February 15th, more details on how you can get your hands on this one is at the bottom of the post!
