This was the question I posed at the beginning of August…………..
Have you taken a really good look at pages 148 and 149 in the new catalog? the page is headed ‘Paper Basics, cards and envelopes”

The 2015 – 2016 Stampin’ Up! catalog bought us new ‘In-colors – a rich and vibrant selection for this year. I have been organizing a monthly “share’ where each person joining receives the ink pad, ink refill, 5 full sheets of card stock and the coordinating marker in each of the 5 colors…….. at the end of 5 months they will have all of the new colors.
Earlier this week a dear friend celebrated a milestone birthday – since she is a card crafter as well it had to be a special card for her. I did a lot of research and found this design on Dawn Griffith’s website – she made wonderful video to explain how it works and I will put in a link a little further down the page.

Two new babies arrived this past week, one the son of some friends and the other the daughter of the folks who live a few houses away in our neighbourhood. This seems to have been a year for babies…… I cannot remember making so many cards in so short a time!

I have just completed the August kits and they will be going to their new homes over the next few days.
Each of the packs contained the supplies to make 4 completely different cards with the Heartfelt Sympathy Stamp set. It contains stamps that were all words – no pictures, so it was a challenge to come up with designs that would complement the words!
Time for another guy birthday card, this one is very straightforward and features decorative paper as the focal point and it cut at an angle to give it a little more interest.

It was my dear Mum’s birthday at the beginning of August, her favorite colors have always been Navy Blue and Cream, so this was the starting point for the card I made for her. As she lives in the UK I needed to ensure that the card would be light enough to mail, without to much bulk from pearls or rhinestones. Those of you who know me also know I love bling on my my cards, this is where glimmer paper comes in very handy!!!

When I was at the Stampin’ Up convention in July I signed up to join in with an ‘organized swap’
It was for a 3D treat holder and the requirements were that it should hold a treat and be an original design if possible. As I love to make boxes I knew that would be the base of my ‘treat’ but I also wanted to show a technique – after all I was going to be giving my treat to fellow stampers/papercrafters so I wanted it to have a bit of a WOW factor.
A birthday card for a dear friend, whose favorite colors are pink and purple. Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder fill the bill perfectly.
This card also contains a little watercoloring ~ I have found myself reaching for the blender pens on a number of projects recently because they produce such a lovely soft coloring.
