Not always our most favorite cards to create but there are times a handmade card can bring comfort at these difficult times. While this is a simple card it does have a couple of techniques that are quick and easy to do.
Continue readingI recently took part in an on-line Stampin’ UP! event, several folks commented that they were not really ‘taken’ with Wild Wheat – one of the new 2023 -2025 In colors and were finding it hard to pair it with another color. Personally I really like it, it has sort of matt gold overtones and after a little thinking and experimenting I paired it with a particular favorite of mine……….. Blackberry Bliss, with Very Vanilla as my neutral ……………… I think this makes a great Autumn color combo!

Last year I had such fun sharing my flip over calendar at the start of each month that I have decided to do the same for my 2022 calendar. This was designed for a stamp camp in November 2021, we had such fun making them and my ladies have made me promise to do another for 2022.
So today I share, water-colored echinacea with dragonflies and late summer/early autumn colors.

Continue readingI recently learned that here, in the US, hedgehogs are kept as pets, who knew? Back in my native UK they live in the wild, visit gardens at night, eat the slugs and snails then curl up and sleep thru the winter!
I have broken out my water-colouring pencils again today, for the cutest little guy EVER, using the Walk in the Woods stamp set to create this thank you card, but as always – change out the greeting and it will make the perfect birthday or thinking of you card.
Continue readingThanksgiving is just around the corner and my card today would be perfect to send to friends and family members to celebrate this year. We might not be able to get together in person as we have in the past so a beautiful card will show them they are in our thoughts.
I have used the Celebration Tidings Stamp Set along with my very favorite Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen, to color the pumpkins, leaves and berries.
Continue readingWe have gone soft and subtle today, the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper is just packed full of beautiful visual textures that makes great backgrounds for your cards. I have paired this with the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, Grey Granite ink and ribbon.
To build on the softness I chose to use a watercoloring and masking technique to use the beautiful ‘peony’ looking flower and soft and ‘floaty’ sort of leaves in the stamp set along with a greeting that would be about perfect for any occasion.
