Two-step stampin’ is a really great technique and there are a number of stamp sets in the SU catalog that have been designed especially for this. ‘Bunch of Blossoms’ is one of them. You can use the outline stamp then a ‘filler’ one to give a crisp image or use both ‘filler’ stamps to give a more subtle ‘watercolor’ effect, As the stamp set is a photopolymer it is very easy to line up each of the layers – in fact you could even do three layers! The set also has 5 beautiful sentiments in such a pretty font. I have two examples to share today.
Card Base: 8 1/2 x 1/2 Thick Whisper White ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 So Saffron Card
Layer 2: 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 Whisper White
Ink colors Crushed Curry for the flower outline and So Saffron for the ‘filler’ stamp, Always Artichoke for the leaf outline and Old Olive for the leaf. The stamp set has a coordinating Blossom Builder Punch. I stamped and punched a couple of petals, cupped them with the scoring tool from the Simply Scored then attached with a stampin’ dimensional.
I used the ‘filler’ stamps to create a butterfly, with punched and cupped flowers to form the top ‘wings’.
Card Base: 11 x 4 1/4 Mint Macaron ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 x 3 3/4 Very Vanilla Card
Strip: 5 1/2 x 3/4 Island Indigo Card
Ink Colors: Mint Macaron and Island Indigo.
