Sympathy cards are some of the hardest cards to make and send – because it recognizes sadness. But they can also bring comfort to the person on the recieving end as well as for the sender of the card – that they have acknowledged the loss of a loved one and the sorrow they are experiencing.
Today I chose to use the Touches of Texture Stamp set, because I just love the ‘cornflower’ image and the ‘scattered dots’ stamp within in the set.
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 So Saffron Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White Card – run thru the Big Shot with the new Basket Weave Embossing Folder (available in the 2018 -2019 Annual Catalog from June 1st)
Ink Colors: So Saffron, Sahara Sand and Old Olive
The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp set (due to retire at the end of May) and cut with the Classic Label Punch.
The center of the flower is created by coloring some Glitter & Epoxy Shapes with an Old Olive Stampin Blends before being attached to the card. The ribbon is the Whisper White 1/4 Organza Ribbon which I colored with a So Saffron Stampin Marker ~ I will have a video of this technique next week.
While I made this as a sympathy card I think with a change of greeting, it would also make a lovely Mother’s Day or Birthday Card.
