Today’s color combination was inspired by the Garden Impressions Cardstock Pack – where you get 8 sheets of 3 different colors – So Saffron, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral and coordinates with the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. It is not a combination that would have come to mind but Stampin’ UP! does all the hard work and makes me look good.
I chose to go with the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set – which allows me to build up my flowers and has some really cute greetings, it also has a coordinating Springtime Impressions Thinlet Dies which I used to emboss one of my layers.
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 So Saffron Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Melon Mambo Card ~ Embossed using the Springtime Impressions Thinlet and Big Shot
Layer 2: 2 3/8 x 2 1/8 So Saffron Card
Layer 3: 2 1/4 x 2 Whisper White Card
Layer 4: 2 7/8 x 1 1/8 So Saffron Card
Layer 5: 2 3/4 x 1 Whisper White Card
Ink Colors: Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green
The Melon Mambo layer was embossed using a Thinlet Die – yes ~ you would expect that to cut through the card rather than emboss – this has been made possible by a new product called the ‘Big Shot Embossing Mats” used along side the Big Shot Platform turns practically any of your Framelits, Edgelits and Thinlets into embossers! The stamp set and dies are available as a bundle so you get to save 10% (see link below)
The greeting is also from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set – once again you could use this for a birthday – who wouldn’t want a 1000 hugs on their birthday? Thinking of You, Thank you or Get Well. The flowers and greeting are popped up on a couple of dimensionals, then a scattering of pearls and we are done.
