Bunch of Blossoms and Gallery Grunge ~ curious combination!

I have used the sentiments from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set on other projects because I love the words and the script – but if occurred to me that I has overlooked the flowers and the coordinating Blossom Builder Punch for far too long.    Today’s card puts that right and gives me a chance to do some 2-step stampin’ which this stamp set was designed to do!

Card base:  11 x 4 1/4 Mango Melody Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Sahara Sand Card

Layer 2: 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 Very Vanilla Card

Ink Colors: Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Sahara Sand

The background effect used the Gallery Grunge Stamp set, I then stamped the stem and the leaves directly onto the card.  The flowers were stamped onto a scrap of vanilla card – the outlines in Sahara Sand and the 2nd step which is the  ‘filling’ with the Mango Melody.  As Bunch of Blossoms is a photopolymer set it makes lining up a real snap.

The petals  were then punched out – the larger petals were left flat but the 2 smaller petals were flipped over and ‘cupped’ using the scoring tool from my Simply Scored Scoring Tool – then attached to the card with a mini Stampin dimensional.

I used the 1/2 circle punch to cut a couple of ‘nicks’ to wind my Linen Thread around, the greeting was cut using 1 1/4 circle punch layered onto Sahara Sand card cut with 1 3/8 Scalloped Circle Punch.
