Our youngest grand-daughter turned 4 a couple of weeks ago ~ I am not very good with cards for littlies so I let my High Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper do all the work with a little help from the Well Said and Well Written Framelit Dies. (this is available as a bundle with a 10% discount if you order before June 3rd)
The How Sweet it is DSP contains some really fun designs with lollipops, cupcakes and gummy bears among them, the colors are really bright and cheerful and perfect for a little girl!
Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Thick Whisper White Card ~ scored @ 4 1/4
Layer 1: 4 x 4 How Sweet It Is DSP
Ink Colors: Gorgeous Grape
After cutting the DSP diagonally each piece is attached to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, lining up one piece with the top of the card and a second piece with the base of the card. I did not measure where I made the diagonal cut on the DSP I simply laid the paper at an angle on my paper trimmer and made the cut!
I have used this technique before click here to see some other examples
The piece that looks black is actually a piece of Champagne Foil Card – but I guess the angle of the camera did not do this justice :-/. The ‘birthday’ greeting is cut with the Well Written Dies on a scrap of Gorgeous Grape card and ‘Happy’ is from the Well Said Stamp set.
I had a small scrap of the DSP with the swirly circle which I cut out with a 1″ circle punch then attached it to a piece of Gorgeous Grape Card cut with the 1 1/8 Scalloped punch – I was then able to attach it to the card with a Mini Stampin Dimensional over one of the sticks to make it look like a lollipop. I also fussy cut one of the cupcakes to stick onto the envelope with a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
