Hello Paper Crafting Friends ~ welcome back to my corner of the world.
I have often shared that my ribbon drawer is the starting point for many of my card designs, the Woven Threads Trim is one of the new ribbons in the 2019 – 2020 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog and is in Sahara Sand – which is one of the Neutrals in the SU color family.
The Beautiful Friendship Stamp set allows you to build up such a pretty floral display as well as 4 very useful greetings, I chose to use the birthday one on this card, the lovely smooth, silky woven threads trim works just beautifully with it.
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Thick Whisper White Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Sahara Sand Card
Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4 Whisper White Card
Ink Colors: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Early Expresso
I stamped the greeting first in Early Expresso, taking care to leave enough room for the trim. The biggest flower was added next then I built up the other flowers and leaves until the rest of the card layer was filled. Toward the top I used the ‘stampin off’ technique to get a lighter tone. This is a very simple technique – simply ink up your stamp then ‘stamp off’ on a piece of scrap paper then apply to your card without reinking!
I used some Tear and Tape double sided adhesive to attach the trim – it needs some extra help to stay in place. The trim comes with a little thread which hold all the little tassels in place – you can leave it on or it can be easily removed to produce a fringe .
The stamped layer is attached to the Sahara Sand one with some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive then this attached to the base card with 4 – 5 Stampin Dimensionals. Could not resist putting a couple of Pearl Basic Jewels to finish off.
