welcome back to my corner of the world
In among all the holiday celebrations there are birthdays – tomorrow would have been my dear Pop’s 90th – so I am commemorating with a card for the fellas today.
The Rooted in Nature stamp set paired with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder is a perfect combination ~ add some Early Expresso and throw in a little Pumpkin Pie….. and I think it really works for the guys!
Card base: 11 x 4 1/4 Early Expresso Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2
Layer 1: 3 1/4 x 1 3/4 Champagne Foil run the the big shot with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, layered onto 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 Pumpkin Pie Card
Layer 2: 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 Very Vanilla Card layered onto 3 7/8 x 2 3/8 Early Expresso Card then layered onto 4 x 2 1/2 Pumpkin Pie Card
Ink Colors: Early Expresso
I can hear you groaning at cutting 1/8’s but those fine borders really make the colors pop more than with wider ones and with the Stampin’ UP! Paper trimmer it is so easy to make those cuts (check out my video here)
Layer 1 is attached to the cardbase with some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive then Layer 2 with 4 Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped on a strip of card and the ends trimmed with 1″ Circle Punch.
None of the fellas in my family are into too much ‘fuss’ so I have just left the Champagne Foil panel give a rich glow with no other embellishments.
