Welcome back to my corner of the world

I was tidying up my work bench last week and while putting stuff away I put my hand on my Embossing Heat Tool – I realized I had not used it in such a long time!  I was very good though – I finished tidying up then I created today’s card.

I used one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets – Happy Birthday to You – which you can get for free if you place a $50 product order thru my on-line store.  I used an emboss resist technique with an ink wash using Mint Macaron.

Card base:  11 x 4 1/4 Mint Macaron Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1: 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 Soft Sea Foam Card

Layer 2:  4 x 3 1/4 Water Color Paper

Ink Colors: Mint Macaron and Versamark

I used Versamark to stamp the cake image then sprinkled with Clear  Embossing Powder before using the Heat Tool to set it.  I placed a small dot of ink onto a paper plate and using an Aqua Painter added some water to dilute the ink before washing it over the stamped image.

The Water Color Paper is perfect for this technique because the card gets quite wet and this card will not curl or twist out of shape ~ but you will need to let it dry for a while before finishing the card.  Alternatively you can use the heat tool to speed up the drying! You can see that as it dries the ink kind of separates to give different shades of green.

I used Silver Embossing Powder for the greeting, some of the new 1/8 Mint Macaron Sheer Ribbon for my bow then a few Silver Metallic Pearls to finish off.
