Happy July !!!!

Today I am back with sunflowers, this time in more traditional colors and breaking out my Stampin’ Blends to do a little soothing coloring.

There is a little bit of technique going on with this one in that I stamped my outline in Daffodil Delight ink but ‘stamped off’ before stampining onto a piece of Whisper White Thick Card.  This gave me a nice, softer outline in which to add my colors.

Card base:  11 x 4 1/4 Crushed Curry Card ~ scored @ 5 1/2

Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 4 Old Olive Card run thru cutting/embossing machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder

Layer 2: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Whisper White Thick Card

Ink Colors: Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake

As I mentioned the sunflower is stamped in Daffodil Delight, then I went to work with my Stampin’ Blends ~ I worked on a couple of petals at a time, building up the colors, it did take about 30 mins to complete the whole flower but it was very relaxing and I love the final effect.  I used the Bronze, Ivory, Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Mango Melody, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blend Pens along with  my Color Lifter to add some highlights. The picture does not really show the Wink of Stella on my flower – but it is there!

I used the large sunflower outline from the Sunflower Dies and some Whisper White card, cutting it in half to create the ‘doily’ effect then added a couple of the new Antique Corners to finish off.
