I like to introduce new colors to you and to pair them with colors you might already have in your stash. Today our new color is Pecan Pie, part of the refreshed Neutrals family and I have paired it with Petal Pink and a little dash of Old Olive for the leaves.
You all know that I love flowers and am always drawn to new stamp sets that feature them, especially if they have greetings as well! The Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set fits that bill perfectly and it particularly speaks to me as one of our Yorkie’s was called Daisy and we were especially close.
- Base Card: 11 x 4 1/4 Petal Pink Card ~ scored @ 2 3/4 & 5 1/2
- Layer 1: 4 x 2 1/2 Pecan Pie Card ~ run thru the Cut and Emboss Machine with the Cane Weave Embossing Folder
- Layer 2: 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 Petal Pink Card
- Layer 3: 4 x 2 1/8 Pecan Pie Card
- Layer 4: 3 7/8 x 2 Very Vanilla Card
- Ink Color: Pecan Pie, Petal Pink and Old Olive
I chose my favorite Lazy Z fun fold to showcase the card colors as well as the images. I used a 2-step stamping technique ~ starting with stamping the outline in Pecan Pie ink then adding the ‘filler’ with Petal Pink ink, finally adding the leaves in Old Olive. I sponged the edges of the very vanilla layers with a little Pecan Pie and a Sponge Dauber. I added a trio of Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels for a little added sparkle.
You’ll love everything you can do with the Cheerful Daisies stamp set. If you like bold and simple stamping? Use the solid images, perfect for quick stamping in one color. If you want to add detailed color? Use the open line-art images, perfect for watercoloring. The flowers, flower centers, leaves, and stems are on separate stamps so you can create customized flowers. Finish with a sentiment—birthday, thanks, thinking of you and sorry.
