I recently took part in an on-line Stampin’ UP! event, several folks commented that they were not really ‘taken’ with Wild Wheat – one of the new 2023 -2025 In colors and were finding it hard to pair it with another color. Personally I really like it, it has sort of matt gold overtones and after a little thinking and experimenting I paired it with a particular favorite of mine……….. Blackberry Bliss, with Very Vanilla as my neutral ……………… I think this makes a great Autumn color combo!

• Base Card: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Blackberry Bliss Card ~ scored @ 2 1/8 and 4 1/4
• Layer 1: 5 1/4 x 1 7/8 Very Vanilla Card
• Layer 2: 5 x 1 3/4 Wild Wheat Card ~ run thru the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder
• Inside Layer : 5 1/4 x 4 Very Vanilla Card
• Ink Color: Basic Gray

My stamp set is Perched in a Tree, I used Basic Gray ink as I wanted a soft image for the little bird and wanted to use my Watercolor Pencils with Blender Pen to color it in. If you look very closely you will see I also added a little Wink of Stella glitter to give it a gently sheen. I chose the Merry Melody Embossing Folder as one of the stamps in the set has the work ‘Sing’ in it – a perfect pairing, don’t you think?

Once my bird was colored and sparkled I used the Decorative Circle Punch then used some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to layer onto Wild Wheat and Blackberry Bliss circles cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. A couple of gold Sparkle Gems added just to finish everything off 🙂
