A couple of weeks ago we had an ice storm come thru North Texas that lasted about 4 days. While I was warm and snug indoors it did look a bit bleak outside and I needed to think about something a sunny and bright – so today’s card uses the Tropical Hideaway Stamp with some bright and happy gold heat embossing.

They were created ‘on the hoof’ during a recent You Tube Live I did – I literally did not know how my card was going to turn out when I started but I sure was thrilled at then end by the result!

Continue readingMy color combination for today’s card was inspired by a flower arrangement in the hotel lobby where we stayed for a wedding in Calistoga CA last spring! I saw it and immediately thought So Saffron, Garden Green and some deep Blackberry Bliss roses. I jotted it down in my notebook and finally got around to using it with the Sending Smiles stamp set.
Continue readingEach month I take part in a Scrapbook hop, I recognize not everyone is into scrapbooking so I try to take some elements from my layout to create a card to show how Stampin’ UP! products can be used for both card making and scrapbook pages.
January’s hop had had us using products from the Jan – April 2023 Mini catalog (check it out here) and I chose to use one of the new bundles called Around the Bend. I think this would make an wonderful card for any occasion – ‘Hello There’ is just perfect for this!

The black and white of the Perfectly Penned decorative paper pack is just perfect to go with any color, so I chose to go with the vibrant Poppy Parade with a little Smoky Slate as a background.

With all the Christmas goodies I had, I kinda ran out of time to share this particular bundle before the end of 2022. Today I have used it to showcase 2 watercolor techniques on a fancy easel fold!

My card today has taken some double sided decorative paper and created a twisted ribbon effect, it was a lot of fun to do and remarkably easy – things usually are when you know to do them. So in today’s card and video I share how I do this technique, showcasing one of the new decorative papers that will be available on January 5th when the new 2023 Jan – May mini catalog goes LIVE! 🙂
