Swaps for Stampin’ Up Convention

Every year during July, Stampin’ Up holds it annual convention.  This is open to demonstators and guests, and is an opportunity for demonstrators from all over the US as well as other countries to get together in Salt Lake City, UT  with  Corporate leaders to (amongst other things) recognise acheivement, to hear and see new products and ideas.

Convention 2014 is called ‘Inspire, Create, Share’ and one one of the best parts is to swap card ideas with your fellow demonstrators.  This year I have made 2 designs (about 25 of each) that I shall be swapping over the next few days.  This is the first one and I shall share the second one in a couple of days. ‘Thank you’ is probably the first phrase we are taught as children – it certainly was in our home and I observed my sister and her eldest daughter do the same when they started their families.  It takes but a few moments to say but it can have so much impact. 2014/2015 Stampin’ Up Catalog Launch @ Cindy’s Corner

June 2nd sees the launch of a new Stampin’ Up catalog, full of great new products and ideas…… so here we have a great excuse of a …. PARTY!!!

Decorating envelopes with a Brayer

I take a lot of time and effort to design and make a card whether it is for a friend or family member or for one of my classes and so I like to decorate the envelopes I send my cards in.  I may use simple stamped image or maybe a more  detailed technique, so I want to introduce you to (or maybe remind you of) a brayer technique.  I tried to write the instructions but they were becoming far too complicated so a short video is in order 🙂 Continue reading →

Mixed Bunch Wedding Congratulations

A very dear friend of my Mum’s got married last week ~ a perfect reason to make and send a card.  Stampin Up’s Mixed Bunch stamp set was one of the most popular when it was launched a couple of years ago, partly because it is very versatile but also, I think, because there is a punch that works with all 6 stamps. Flower Shop for Mother’s Day

Here in the US we celebrate Mother’s Day on May 11th this year.  In the UK it was celebrated in March. Before I started to make cards myself I was always struggling to find cards to send back to the UK for our Mum’s, in fact one year I bought some Mother’s Day cards in May and tucked them away until the following March!  It is so much easier now that I make my own cards. Happenings ~ Simply Created Card Kit

The Happenings ~ Simply Created Card Kit is a great kit for stampers at all experience levels.  It contains the supplies to make 15 cards – the only extra supplies needed is some adhesive, stamp set and ink pad or marker pen.

I decided to make a video to show how quick and easy it is to put these cards together, the kit would make a great teacher appreciation gift or for young person to make up some cards as a handmade gift for their teacher. Continue reading →

Creative Elements Cards

I needed cards for three different occasions, “Happy Birthday’, ‘Happy Anniversary’ and ‘Congratulations’ for a new grandchild.  I decided the same design would work but using different colors and to change the layout of the ‘card candy’ (a new term I just learned, meaning embellishment!) The stamp set was Stampin Up’s Creative Elements ( and we just heard today this set is being retired and is now only available while stocks last!) see the bottom of this post for a great ‘free shipping’ offer 🙂
