I was tidying my work bench (it happens from time to time) and while putting something away came across a handmade card I had been sent a couple of years ago. It was so bright and refreshing that I decide to recreate it with some stamps and embellishments that are about to retire. Continue reading

Decorated Candle ~ Stampin’ Up!
Oh! this was a day I promised myself during tax season ~ to simply play with some card and ribbon and have a good ol’ footle. (an expression my dear Aunt used to do something without a particular purpose but simply to DO!)
During a visit to Lansing MI back in February I saw a fellow papercrafter had decorated a candle and I was so taken with it I wanted to have a go myself.

Welcome to your New Home ~ Stampin’ Up!
My niece in the UK, is about to move house again! Her husband is in the British military and this will be their 5th move in the nearly 7 years they have been married.
Moving is an exhausting business ~ to pack up then unpack, not only physically but emotionally. When we moved about 3 years ago I did the ‘grieving’ part of the move while I was removing all our personal items before putting the house on the market, by that time it was not longer our home but a house, when it came time to leave I was ready. Knowing all of this I wanted to send her a card to let her know I was thinking of her.

Now which adhesive should I use?
Stampin’ Up! offer 8 different adhesives – which one should you use? After all glue is glue is it not?
Well yes, but not all glues will work on all occasions – you need to use the right adhesive for the job you want it to do. Some projects require a good strong adhesive such as assembling a box others require something a little more refined – like attaching a small embellishment.

It was a really overcast and dull day and I had it was one of my rare days off from the tax office. I needed some brightness and sparkle in my day so headed straight for the glimmer paper – you might need some sunglasses for these ones as they have a lot of sparkliness! (its a word…. honest!)

Sneak Peek of New 2017 Designer Series Papers.
OH – I am so excited to bring you this ~ a sneak peek from some of the new goodies in the 2017 – 2018 catalog.
I just love DSP…… I use it such a lot in all my projects, but I am a bit of a hoarder especially when the paper has ‘sparkly’ bits in it, I keep thinking that if I use it now I won’t have it when that really special project comes up! In truth, though, every project is a bit special so I take a deep breath and ‘get ‘er done! as they say in this part of the world!

Grateful Bunch Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!
Its hard to believe that the 2016 ~ 2018 In-colors are nearly a year old! We get 5 new colors each year, some of them I love on sight, others grow on me. The one that really captured my imagination straightaway was the Flighty Flamingo, the one that needed a little more time was Peekaboo Peach, both colors suit this birthday card perfectly.
