Stitched Greenery Embossing Plate ~ Product Spotlight

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Each time a new Stampin’ UP! catalog is issued I go thru it to see all the new goodies, each time I think I have seen everything that is available and then I start to discover things I missed! One of those is the focus of today’s card – tucked away on page 165 is a metal plate which really does not seem much – until you run it thru your Cut and Emboss Machine with a piece of card – and there it is ……. a beautiful, delicate pattern of little stitched leaves,

To bring the botanical theme thru I have embellished the card with a few flowers and greeting from the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set and coordinating Flowers and Leaves Punch ( choose the bundle and save 10% – see the link below 🙂 )

Biggest Wish Super Simple Guy Card

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I am really taken with the Biggest Wish Stamp Set ~ I love that I can create nice, big greetings for my cards, this is especially true for today’s card as I made it for my nephew so that is not ‘over the top’ as he is not into fancy!

I chose to use some decorative paper with checks and pull the checks thru the card by using one of the new embossing folders. This is a very quick and simple card to make you could use the same sketch, changing out the decorative paper and card colors to create a card for any occasion.

Slimline Silver Embossed Celebrate Card Idea

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Last week my brother and sister-in-law celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, which is silver! Neither of them are into delicate, dainty or fancy, so after much thought and a stroll thru my stamp sets I decided the Stacked Stone Stamp would make a fantastic background with some elegant leaves from the Artistic Dies.

To bring in the silver theme I heat embossed the Stacked Stone image with Silver Embossing Powder. I did not want to add too much bulk to the card as it has to be posted to the UK, so the heat embossing had a huge impact.

Elegant Multipanel Pop-out, Fancy Fold Card

Welcome to my Corner of the World

One of the most stunning set of decorative papers in the 2021 – 2022 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog is the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has beautiful neutrals which are the backdrop to silver, gold and copper gilding. Rather than using just one of the designs I looked for a fancy fold card where I could display as many of the different designs as possible and that is the card I share today.

I used the other coordinating products for this paper, the Elegantly Said Stamp Set and Elegant Tag Punch. I also chose to use Basic Gray and Gray Granite Card as a background.

Faux Watercolor Technique with Partial Embossing.

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I have a few techniques to share with just one card!! The first one is a faux watercolor technique using different ink colors, partial dry embossing where some parts of the card are embossed and others are not and as a finale – how to use your punch to create an alternate size label! It sounds a lot I know – the good news is there is a video to show how they all come together.

Introducing Stampin Blends ~ Easy Techniques # 3

Welcome to my Corner of the World

Last month I posted my first two videos introducing Stampin’ Blends, as I explained at that time, Stampin Blends are alcohol markers and have been available for a few years now. Although I have some of them I have not really explored them very much. When one of my lovely customers asked me a question on them I was unable to give her a good answer and made the decision I was going to teach myself how to use them!

Rather than practice in private – I decided I was going to practice on video, starting with the basics and developing my skills in front of you, my sweet readers! So the third in the series introduces the Alcohol Blending Technique – enjoy!

Introducing Stampin’ Blends ~ Easy Techniques # 2

Welcome to my Corner of the World

A couple of weeks ago I posted my first video introducing Stampin’ Blends, as I explained at that time, Stampin Blends are alcohol markers and have been available for a few years now. Although I have some of them I have not really explored them very much. When one of my lovely customers asked me a question on them I was unable to give her a good answer and made the decision I was going to teach myself how to use them!

Rather than practice in private – I decided I was going to practice on video, starting with the basics and developing my skills in front of you, my wonderful readers! So this is the second is a series I am planning over the coming weeks – enjoy!
