Center-Step Card with Prized Peony Suite ~ Video Tutorial

Welcome to my Corner of the World

I so love fancy/fun fold cards, even after nearly 10 years as a demonstrator I still am in awe on what you can do with a piece of card stock!! Center-Step cards have been around for a considerable while but I think it is always nice to dust it off and update it with new colors and products.

The Peony Garden Suite of products have been very popular since its release in June, I have used the 3D peony as the as my focal point and paired it with Daffodil Delight and Cinnamon Cider Card.

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop ~ Travel

Welcome to the  Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop,  we are  group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.

You will have either arrived from Jo’s  post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME.  This month are theme is ‘Travel’   ~ well in the current situation  this is defiantly a bit of a challenge – but here goes ……

I will admit I was struggling with this one as I don’t have any stamp sets etc that are ‘travel’ themed.  I was seeking inspiration and my eye fell on one of the sheets of 12 x 12 in the World of Good Designer Series Paper which has a map of the US and Canada…. and there it was – Alaska!

Peony with Borders Abound Best Wishes

Welcome to my Corner of the World

You all know I love flowers, I find myself reaching for dies and stamp sets that have them, so when we had a new set of Peony Dies in the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalog that produces a 3D peony – it was on my wish list in an instant!

At first glance the dies look a bit complex, but in truth they are so easy so I have produced a video tutorial to share the technique with you. I have paired this with one of the greetings from the Borders Abound Stamp Set.

Many Layered Blossoms Dies – Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

On page 174 of the 2020 Annual Catalog are a set of dies that produces the most stunning effect.  The Many Layered Blossoms Dies along with some Copper Foil and Adhesive Sheets allowed me to create this beautiful card.

I used Grey Granite  for my original sample, my husband’s  choice ~  I use Basic Black in my video to which produced a more dramatic effect. While I did a tiny bit of stamping with the coordinating Blossoms in Bloom Stamp set I think I could have got away without any stampin’ at all!

Playing with Patterns ~ 4 cards from 6 x 6 piece of DSP

Welcome back to my corner of the world

A couple of weeks ago I took part in the Ink . Stamp . Share Blog Hop and one of my fellow artisans showed a set of cards where a 6 x 6 piece of Designer Series Paper was cut into 4 pieces with odd angles.  I could not resist –  I just had to have a go,  it looked such fun and I got 4 great cards as a result.

I chose to use the Playing with Patterns Suite of products along with the Borders Abound Stamp Set. When I had done one set I was kind of hooked and chose another piece of decorative paper and coordinating card so now I have 3 sets of 4 cards.

Prized Peony ~ Watercoloring with a Twist Video Tutorial

Welcome back to my corner of the world

A little technique that came to me the other day as a happy accident, I love to do water coloring but I had stamped my image in the  water-based Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I could have re-stamped it but I hate waste, so found and empty Water Painter (formally Aqua Painter) filled it with some Isopropanol Alchohol and used my that to ‘watercolor’ my stamped peony.  I had such fun with it I decided to share with a video.

I used the Prized Peony Stamp Set which has stunning images of peonies as well as some greetings in a beautiful script, always a favorite of mine!

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop ~ Punches

Welcome to the  Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop,  we are  group of international Stampin UP! demonstrators sharing our ideas and creativity with you.

You will have either arrived from  Jo’s  post or starting here ~ either way WELCOME.  This month our theme is PUNCHES ~ where we can showcase the some of the great punches we have available to us.  I love punches, they are the first thing I look for in a new catalog (after ribbons) and I got to use 5 different ones on today’s page.

Once again I have chosen to use a 12 x 12 page – mainly because Stampin’ UP! has 12 x 12 card stock in all its colors which gives me a fantastic choice

Tasteful Touches ~ Masking and Watercoloring Video

Welcome back to my corner of the world

We have gone soft and subtle today, the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper is just packed full of beautiful visual textures that makes great backgrounds for your cards.  I have paired this with the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, Grey Granite ink and ribbon.

To build on the softness I chose to use a  watercoloring and masking technique to use the beautiful ‘peony’ looking flower and soft and ‘floaty’ sort of leaves in the stamp set along with a greeting that would be about perfect for any occasion.
